BI: Government Should Push Mining Companies Build Smelter

Head of Bank Indonesia ( BI ) Branch Bengkulu , Piter Abdullah called on regional heads to encourage mining companies to build smelters , because it will benefit the region downstream of the various lines of natural resource management including creating jobs .

" The head area should be immediately encourages the coal mining companies to build the smelter as a place of purification in accordance with the mandate of the Law on Mineral and Coal ( Mining ) , is very favorable for field work , shaping the industry and have more added value , " said Piter in Bengkulu , Tuesday ( 15.04.2014 ) .

He continued , stating the national government has made the application of export rates to spur progressive purification . Progressive tax rates as a serious mining company hopes steer the mining products will be exported .

If the mining companies to export and there has been no attempt downstream , at least the government is already implementing levels of purification that will be exported .

He went on , what has been done on the implementation of the central government's Mining Law is very good . Therefore , steps should also be done by any regional head . This strongly supports the economic climate in Bengkulu , Bengkulu majority considering the value of exports originating from coal exports .
